How do we make sure that we are at an all singles table???
My friend and I (both females in our 30's) are frequent RCCL cruisers for years. We are both single and always wind up sitting at dinner with all couples or honeymooners!!! Then we always see the fun single tables all together! We cannnot figure out how to make this happen! We have looked for the Maitre D when we board the ship and he is never around...Do we talk to the travel agent? HELP. This would really be a great way to meet other singles. It makes absolutely no sense to us why they would put us at all couples tables...
Any help anyone can provide would be appreciated. We are cruising RCCL Serenade in November.
First, you do NEED to find the Maitre D. Second, you also should have a twenty dollar bill in your hand when you do.

The best way to find the Maitre' D is to go to the Customer Service desk (Usually the main reception area) and ask where he/she is located. It is also usually in your embarkation newsletter that is in the cabin.)
Larry is correct that it is important to find the Maitre 'D and tell him/her that you REALLY need to be at a singles table and that you have always been put at a table with couples. I think he/she will understand.
Take care and I hope you get the table you deserve and have wonderful and FUN time.

Suggest you also tell your TA that this is your preferred seating arrangement and have them notify the cruise line. Then you should be at least listed for a single table - and if it isn't assigned, then see the maitre 'd. Though you really won't know who you'll be sitting with until dinner the first evening ... that's when you contact the maitre 'd.
I cruise the Emerald Princess, Eastern Caribbean on April 16, 2012
First thing to do is tell your TA what you want. Second go to the main dining room when you first board and find the Maitre'D and inform him that you wish to be seated with other singles if not already. He will do everything in his power to accomodate you. Remember him when it comes to tipping if he helps you.
totally agree with the others, tell your TA first, and then when you board go to the Purser's Desk and ask when and where the Maitre D will be. Seek him out, ask him if you are seated at a table for singles and if not could he move you. A tip wouldn't hurt if you really want that table assignment
