Default A few questions

Could someone please explain the need for the veranda lights? I've notice them mentioned in a couple of posts and I am unsure of what they are used for. Also is there any thing in particular that I need to take with me to make my room more comfortable. I will be on the Costa Mediterranea 2-9 April 2006. This will be my 2nd cruise with a balcony and I would like to make it as comfy as possible. A couple of the ports wil be repeats for me so I am not sure if I will be leaving the ship on those days. So if there is anything special that I should have in my room I would love to know about it. Also I would like to take along a portable DVD player. Has anyone done this?? And were there any problems???

Thanks any information would be greatly appreciated!

The lights are mainly just to foo-foo up your balcony. Personally, I've never done 'em.

We are bring the DVD player on Princess because we have 8 days at sea. Just post on the Costa board and ask if the TVs have jacks, or perhaps call the line itself.

You might ask for egg crates for your bed, makes a huge difference. if you have room on your veranda you could ask for a table or lounge chair.

the veranda lights are just for show, most folks who do this just bring a string of christmas type lights.
I would pack a 4-outlet adapter to plug into the only outlet in the stateroom, that way you will have 4 plugs instead of just one.
a travel alarm clock is a good thing to have as the only time source is the telephone display.
a small nightlite is also a good idea-we learned this one the hard way, after trying to leave the bathroom door ajar at night, this doesn't work with the constant motion of the ship.
