Default Princess Smoking Policies - Very Upsetting

Hi:

I just read on another cruise website reference different cruise lines smoking policies. It stated that Princess allows smoking in elevators and dining rooms (RCI does not). As a non smoker, who has asthma, I never realized that Princess had this policy on their ships. I'm getting ready to go on another Princess cruise in three weeks and I can't believe they let people smoke in the elevators and in the dining room. This is my 6th cruise with Princess and I always thought smoking was prohibited in the dining rooms. The reason I mentioned RCI, is that they're the other cruise line we cruise on a lot. We're Diamond members with RCI. If this is Princess policy on smoking, I definitely won't be booking any more cruises with Princess. I did not realize this before. Is it a new policy?
What is your opinion?

Thanks......

Happy Cruising....Buddy

This is NOT true!! Princess does not allow smoking in the dining rooms, nor in the elevators. In fact, smoking areas are limited, and even some of the lounges are SMOKE FREE. Though some do have smoking areas designated.

Another example of the Internet, unfortunately sometimes distributing FALSE information!!

Yes, Kuki is correct. I think you got some mis-information. There hasn't been any smoking in dining rooms or theaters for years, so go ahead and plan that Princess cruise.

Just goes to show you can't believe everything you read on a message board.

As Kuki and Donna said. Princess does not allow smoking in the elavators and in the dining rooms. Perhaps, someone was confused or really weird because they saw an ash tray by an elevator.

Enjoy your cruise.

Well at least you can't believe what you read on message boards from "another" website. We try very hard to provide truthful information here and when we notice something that is not true or mistaken we try to get the real story out.

Hi AnitaBuddy,

We were on Grand Princess last New Year's.

Smoking was allowed in your cabin, in the casino, in areas of three bars, in the cigar bar , and on the starboard side of the pool deck.

The smoking areas were well marked, so if you avoid those areas you'll be fine!

Have a wonderful cruise,
