Default Disembarking in the rain

Someone posted pictures in the Photo Gallery this morning of luggage getting soaked in a rainstorm after being offloaded at disembarkation. Is this common or do the docks usually have a covered area to keep things dry? If not, perhaps I need to pack large trash bags as a cover-up just in case the weather turns stormy on the last day.

usually at the end of your cruise, your luggage will be be in color coded bins in a big warehouse at the pier. You find your luggage then get your transportation.

Hi,

Same here....I've never seen or heard of bags simply offloaded from the ship onto the deck, and guests being left to their own device to find their bags;; totally against security, for one thing; hugely insane and improper.
Where were the longshoremen ??? On a wildcat strike ?? The protocol is usually quite rigid in this process: guests do not touch their bags before the proper offloading procedure is carried out, by longshoremen, and bags are coralled by color codes in the '' bags area''....and, IMO, this is common to most if not all ports in N.A.....
I'm positive something very wierd happened that morning in SanPedro to cause bags to be litterally thrown off on the pier and'' there it is, find yours", in the rain even....Celebrity ( or any other line ) would not think of being that insensitive, even in their wildest dreams...
What about the RCI Monarch, seen in front(or back of ) Summit ?? Safe to presume the same disaster struck them to...same pier, same rain, same day...

Awful...but there has to be a specific reason...

Cheers

If they were just thrown off then the dogs sniffed them in the rain. All bags are sniffed by drug dogs. At least that is what I have always been told.
