Default Letter to take stepson on cruise?

We are sailing on the NCL Spirit on March 19th. My stepson is coming with us. We were told we need a notorized letter from his father saying it is ok to go. Anyone have any experience with this?
Mike

Oh yes....I had to do the same with my son.

You need a paper from the passport office, signed and notarized, on the same sheet, stating the child's father will allow you to take him/her out of the country.

They are doing this now so parents who do not have custody, can no longer kidnap the kids and keep them in another country illegally. IT still happens, but the country won't harbor them. So to speak.

Yes, you will need it. The letter needs to state when you are traveling, where you are traveling to and must be notarized. Also, if the child is 16 or older he must have a photo id.
