Default Port Everglades - Once happens once I get there?

Hi All!
I'm taking my first cruise on feb 12 - Carnival Liberty. I've booked a local hotel for the night before just to make sure I'm there. I have to say finding a hotel under $180 was impossible! Perhaps it's the weekend I've seleted.

I know I can take a cab to Port Everglades. I'm sailing from Pier 19, Mid area. Will my cab driver take me right to this pier or will I need to get out at a main gate and drag my luggage?

I'm having touble visualizing what happens once I get to the cruise port. I've been in dozens of airports but never a cruise terminal.

Help please!

I would try Priceline for your hotel room. The taxi driver will drop you right in front of your entrance and there will be porters there to take your bags.
Have a wonderful cruise!

I was researching some hotels during the same time and I was told because of the King Tut exhibition, everything has gone up, even the local Best Western our friends just had for $59/night is now $135/night.

Default Thanks for all your help

Thanks for the information. I couldn't imagine why the price was so high.

I am going on the Liberty March 4 and I got a room at the Sleep Inn for 135.00 and booked it a couple of months ago. It is now up to over 200.00. I couldn't figure it out either tell I read about King Tut.
Anyways, your taxi will drop you right off and there will be many men their to help you with your luggage. It is not confusing or hard at all. They have people there directing you what line to get in etc. Make sure you have all your "Fun Pass" information filled out and done.
It seems everyone is going March 12...Anyone out there going March 4. It says it is full for March 4 (Eastern Itinerary) but can't find anyone.
Have a nice time!!!!
WE always stay the night before...less stressful way to start a cruise than flying in the same day!!!

your hotel might offer shuttle service from the hotel to the pier. Ask when you check-in, most hotels do, and there usually is no out-of-pocket cost for the shuttle. Either way you will be dropped off in front of the correct terminal, there will be porters there to take your baggage.

Default Feb 12th for us too!

Hi Lesav,

We are leaving the 12th out of PC as well, only on the Mariner of the Seas. I was on Priceline and got a room at the Holiday Inn Beach Resort for $77/night. I thoguht it was a decent price and being we are right on the beach even nicer. Heard the hotel can be hit or miss, so we will see, its only for a ngiht, so we will endur, as we know where we will be the week after that

Mike,
You got a good rate for that area, Port Canaveral Hotel prices in Fort Lauderdale, Port Everglades, have risen from December 05 thru April 06 because of the King Tut Exhibition. You'll love the Mariner! Enjoy!
