Default Electrical Outlets

Do cruise ships have regular electrical outlets? I wanted to bring a travel steamer aboard the Mariner, but I am not sure about the outlets. Thanks!

There are usually two outlets on the dressing table in your cabin. They are standard us outlets. YOu will also find one other outlet in your bathroom. Get a small power strip at the store, so that you can use your steamer while you curling iron is heating up and so that you can charge your cell phones as well. Two outlets never work out to be enough. We travel with kids, so we need a nightlight and a fan for my husband so the power strip is a life saver.
Kids don't slow you down, they only increase your baggage allowance

Hi Laura S,

I agree with bringing the power strip. We bring a "five holer" as we need to recharge phones and the camera and DH needs to plug in his hair dryer. (Most ships have hair dryers, but sometimes they aren't very strong).

The outlet in the bathroom is usually for electric shavers only.

Have a wonderful cruise!

Irons are not a good idea as they are a fire hazard. Most cruise lines do not allow them. There is no real good place to iron anyway.

Bring a steamer, also use dry cleaner bags for your clothes, it does help.
Downey Wrinkle Releaser has been recommended by others.

Some lines have self service laundry areas and irons.
