The over the counter sea sickness meds work very well for me. I've also heard from several people that the wrist bands work well.

I would pack Bonine as a back-up plan. You might not even need it.
I have had very good success using the ginger remedy(ginger cookies, ginger candy, ginger-ale as long it is made from ginger and not just flavor) You can even buy ginger capsules at your local pharmacy or health-food store.

Bonine works for me every time. Haven't gotten sick yet. I've been in some rough seas on small fishing boats and while everyone around me were feeding the fish, I was fine. So I know it works.

Ginger Root Capsules are the best. They don't make you sleepy, and you can take them every day.Good Luck

Bonine has always worked for my husband and I; one chewable tablet in the morning and fergit about it! No drowsiness, no seasickness. However, they cannot be used as a back-up plan, once you start feeling ill, it won't change things, so better to take it than not.

Happy cruising!
