We are new to cruising (first cruise on carnival truimph 6/10/06 family of 5: boys 12 & 9 girl 5). All of these terms and RCL's, dd's and so on everyone is using can be overwhelming and confusing. Any suggestions for help?
Welcome to CruiseMates. You will find lots of info here and feel free to ask any questions. Be sure to read the articles under News & Features; Family cruising, Before you go, Teens and Kids, First time Cruisers, etc. You'll get use to the lingo...
Here are some I had to learn; pax= passengers, ppl=people. Aft/stern is the back of ship, bow is the front, starboard is right side and port is left. East to remember, port has 4 letters and so does left.
The main thing to remember, your are going on a SHIP, not a boat...
Your kids will love it. Mine are all grown and still talk about our trips over 10 ago.
Always here to help. Have fun planning.
