Default Best cruise for twenty-somethings???

Hello,

Just wondering if someone could recommend the best cruise liner for two couples in their mid-twenties? A place where there wouldn't be too many children (like on Disney) and where we would feel comfortable with the more experienced travelers (in terms of interests). Thanks for any recommendations!

Hi Jan,
It sounds like you may enjoy one of the Royal Caribbean ships or even Princess. If you are into more shipboard activities, I'd choose one of the newer RCL ships, lots to do onboard and you can find them with the rock climbing walls, ice skating and the Radiance class even have pool tables.

Do you have an idea of what kind of itinary you want to do? YOu can narrow that down on a few lines and then go from there.

I've found Carnival also attracts a lot of young couples, but they also attract a lot of families, as does Royal Carribean. In order to avoid a lot of kids don't cruise during the summer, over the holidays, or school vacation weeks (mid-February through the end of April). I will say I have cruised with my kids during a school vacation week and while there were a lot of children on board, I didn't feel as though the ship were over-run with them and overall all the children were well behaved.

Jannie - i would look into Princess or Celebrity.
Princess would be a more active line over Celebrity.
Do not sail during school holiday or summer break periods if you don't want alot of kids on board. If you go on a longer cruise (7 days or more) you will encounter more seasoned travelers but the median age will rise.

Thanks for all the info, everyone. It's been really helpful. We were considering a July cruise, but we're now rethinking our dates. Royal Caribbean seems good, especially because of their availability with ports and dates. Again, thanks Donna, Darcy, and LisaK!

Donna,

I finally booked it, my first cruise! We took the advice and booked Royal Caribbean the first week in June. Some other posts said that shorter cruises also attracts younger crowds. So, we booked a 4-night western Caribbean on the Enchantment. It's a short trip but we decided to do a few days in Miami afterwards.

Thanks everyone! Any advice for me... I'm all ears

Hey Jannie,
Thats wonderful news. A 4 night is a good way to start, but I honestly think you'll love it and want to book again, may-be a 7 for the next one...

Be sure to let us know how you enjoy your "first" cruise!
