We will be on the Crown Princess, Feb 3, 2007. Hubby wants a mini-suite because of the larger bathroom! Why? Not a clue. My question is, we have D319 and was wondering is anyone has any information about this cabin. Is the balcony open or covered? Thanks
You will enjoy the mini suite, approx 350 sq ft including balcony. My wife and I always book a mini when we sail Princess. And yes I agree about the larger bath. At times if you are rushed for dinner both of you will be able to use the bath if required. I do get tired of those one person baths.
As for the balconies they are partially covered and tiered.
On Caribe deck, for instance, from the balcony you can see the balcony below and the people above can see you.
To us it was not a problem unless you feel you really need privacy. I guess that is why robes are provided, that morning stretch on the balcony.
The cabin you selected is great, midship and less movement felt by ships sea conditions.
Have fun on the cruise.
My wife and I are booked on the Coral April 2007, mini suite of course.

Not sure of the deck layouts on Crown Princess, but we have always had mini-suites on Sun Princess and Coral Princess either Dolphin deck mid-ship or Caribe deck . We went to Alaska on the Sun Princess and my cruise agent upgraded us to cabin C-744 Oh My G-d - it was the height of elegance. We booked mid ship and were upgraded to this palatial suite - it stretched from here to eternity! but I wouldn't pay for such spacious elegance unless I wa cruising for 2-3 wks or more and needed lots of space between me and my husband after the first week in confinement! It was a once in a lifetime piece of heaven...and we have the photos to prove it!
Princess ships in general are known for their decor and themes that you won't find on the "fun ships" wild and active party seeking patrons. On my upcoming cruise I booked my entire family on Carnival Legend out of NY (where we live) to E.Carib - we have 3 adjoining balcony cabins on Panorama deck 8 exactly mid-ship. We are looking forward to our first Carnival experience....the reviews are fantastic on every level. The 5th of June cannot arrive fast enough for us at this point. We booked last July 21st! Good luck in your search....take our advice...we know from whence we speak!
