Default Tipping question

If you sign up for the automatic tiping (I think it's $10 a day) does that take care of all the tips on the ship (beside walk up bars and such). I'm thinking it will take care of the cabin stewart & tips in the dinning room? If you don't drink, where else would you need to tip.

Thanks

Yes it does take care of the people you mentioned, unless you wish to add more.
The only other item are tips if you desire for room service.

You may also want to tip the porters that take care of your luggage when you arrive at the pier, a few dollars per bag. If you do any excursions, you may want to tip those people at the end of your excursion.

Keep in mind, when you do order drinks onboard, they will automatically add a 15% tip on to your bill.

Also, sometimes your cabin sterward or waiter, etc do such a great job of making your cruise special that you'll want to add something at the end of your cruise. When you see how hard they work for you, you'll definately not begrudge them their tips (they make so little actual salery).

the automatic tipping does not cover room service, bar service, and salon services.

I have another question (might be a silly question)... Let's say you do the automatic tipping ($10 a day). But towards the end of the cruise you decide the service was better than expected - let's say by the cabin stewart. Can you increase a tip for him/her on your credit card or is it better to leave cash? If you can increase it on your credit card can you specify who it's for or is it split like the other auto tipping is split? I'm trying to figure out how much cash to take and if any extra tips have to be cash I want to account for that. And - I'm almost embarrassed to ask - do they have ATM's on the ship??? OK I think I'm done with my questions!

extra tips in addition to the auto tips are better in cash, as the staff is not required to pool the extra tips that they receive. yes, there are atm's onboard but don't be surprised if you get him with a $10 service charge.

IF you use the automatic tipping it is best to tip extra in cash in person, that cash does not go into the tipping pool.

Additional question about the automatic tipping. Is that $10 a day per cabin or $10 a day per person.

Thanks

10.00 per day, per person.

Its $10.00 per day, per person. So, yes, it does add up, but when you see all the things the staff do for you, you'll gladly pay that and possibly more.
