Default bahamian weather in early january vs. march

I'm planning a cruise for early 2007. My options are going in early January versus mid-march. I want to make sure that the weather in January during the day will be warm enough to wear light clothing, go snorkeling and swimming on the off-shore excursions to Nassau.

I'm traveling on a medium sized ship with Carnival. Will it be rocky? 50% of the time or less than 25%?

Would this cruise have mostly older couples or a good mix?

Thanks.

I've been to the Bahamas in December and in February. Both times weather was nice. In December it may have been a bit chilly in the water but outdoors was shorts and tee shirt weather. In February it was wonderful and the water was like a warm bath. Check the annual temperatures on a web search for the ports you are going to.

On the cruise Carnival attracts a wide range of ages. A lot of familys less kids if school is in session, more if they are out such as Christmas and Spring Break. Usually couples and familys are on board. Average age group probally 35-55 some younger some older.

As far as rocky I assume you mean the motion of the boat. You will usually feel it most night when traveling between ports during dinner. Take a non drowsy Dramamine or Bonine before bed starting the night before cruise to prevent any sea sickness. It's almost impossible to get rid of once you have it, so prevention is key.

Also I would advise you buy travel insurance and arrive in port at least one or more days early, just in case winter storms put a damper in your fight days. Hope this helps!

I have been to the Bahamas in January when it was chilly and rainy, and when it has been warm(not hot) and sunny. Haven't been in March so i can't help you on that one. Not much help, sorry.

We were in the Bahamas in January, and while the air temperature was fine for shorts and t-shirts, the water (we dipped in a toe) was too cold for me.

That being said, there were people swimming - I just wasn't one of them. If price isn't an object, I'd go for March.

If I had my choice I'd do the March, although there will be a difference in price, but its usually better weather. Did one cruise in late Dec and had a few very chilly days.

We did the Sensation in Marchto Freeport and Nassau and it was hot enough to lay out, get in water, etc. I took a sweatshirt and jeans and never used either one.
