Default Airline take Off?

I am in the process of booking my airline flights for our November cruise. The only affordable flight returning home leaves Ft Lauderdale at 11:05 AM. Is this enough time to make the flight? I need to act fast as airfare keeps going up!

the cruiselines will tell you not to book before noon. If you are going out of miami, I think that 11 maybe cutting it close, but if you are going out of port everglades I think you are fine. We had a 11:55 flight out of Jacksonville last year and I think we were at the airport at 9:15. When the luggage tags comeout for debark, then go to the pursers desk and tell them you have an early flight. They can give you a early color. Just bring a copy of your itinerary for proof. You did not say what cruiseline you were with, but Carnival at least on the celebration let those who chose to carry their own luggage off get off the ship first. I think you will be fine. Have a great trip!

From Ft. Lauderdale, I would say yes, that would work, just make sure the cruiseline knows you have an early flights. The airport and port are only about a 10 minute taxi ride....Also, just take a cab after you get off the ship.

We are going on the Westerdam. I am a bit concerned because that is the Sunday after Thanksgiving and I suppose it will be a heavy travel day!

Do they allow you to carry your own luggage off? If so, you should make it.

If you can carry off your own luggage, you can leave the ship as soon as it is cleared. (Carnival).

I am not sure about the luggage! I would have no problems carrying our luggage off! Does anyone know if Holland America allows this?

Hi Mr. Godfredo,

Here's the link to disembarking info from the HAL website:

http://www.hollandamerica.com/guests...disembarkation

It doesn't look like they offer self-disembarking .

I hope someone who has cruised HAL recently can give you more up to date info.

I also think that you could make an 11:05 flight, but it really depends on how long it takes to clear the ship with customs and immigration.

Have a wonderful cruise!

On the Zuiderdam to Alaska they allowed those who carried their own bags to get off first. Not sure if that is a fleet wide policy or not though.
