Default extra costs

We will be taking our first cruise in November. Heading to Mexico with RCCL on the Vision of the Seas.

What are the things not included in our "all inclusive package". I know the alcohol is extra, but is all the food including room service free ? We are planning on getting a card for the kids to get their drinks, but what are the other additional charges we need to plan for on this trip

Thanks

Paul

A cruise is not really "all inclusive," but you can do quite well without spending a lot extra. Room service is included, but be sure to tip a few dollars to the person who delivers it, just like you would do in a hotel. Having said that, tips (app. $10 per day per person) would also be extra. These can be charged to your seapass account or given out in cash - you will get envelopes on your last day for this. If there is a specialty restaurant on the ship, you will pay extra for this - usually well worth it. Some ships have a specialty coffee shop or ice cream stand that cost extra. Of course, you can spend in the gift shop, the spa, for bingo, in the casino, etc. - or not as you choose. The machines in the gym are included, but some lines charge extra (usually about $10) for special exercise classes. Excursions are also extra and can cost as much or as little as you want.

Are the specialty restaurants, coffee shop, ice cream stand some how identified as an additional cost ?? or do they just show up on your bill at the end of the trip. I need to inform my kids of this prior to a surprise on my final bill.

You'll know what the cost is right up front so you won't get any surprises. You have to sign a chit for these things and the price is shown.

Photos - it'll cost ya - .

We always say we aren't going to buy any more - but we always do. Those photographers on board can make even us look good. But how often do you get all decked out and have a great photo taken - especially if the family is with you?
