In my excitement for our upcomming cruise on the Westerdam (Nov 19th), I decided to do some surfing of the net and discovered that the prices for our particular trip have decreased! I contacted my TA (who is awesome!) and he gave me the new price! So not only am I getting the cruise I want, I now am getting it for a few hundred bucks cheaper! My question is, would my travel agent have discovered this when I made my final payment to HAL or did I just save money because of my curiosity? Either way, I suppose that everyone should keep an eye on there cruise particulars (Prices and Itineraries) unitl the time of sailing! I suppose I now have some extra dough for excursions and a few exotic cocktails!!! 8)
Yes, as long as you are outside of final payment time you can get the new prices. Just call your TA or the cruise line (if you booked through them).
I agree with Kuki. We think our TA is great, but she can't spend all of her time checking prices! I check the prices often. The price of our next cruise went down twice and I just emailed her and she got us the better price.
Now, the prices are back up !

How do you check the prices to see if they went down? We booked here in Canada and paid in Canadian funds. Everywhere online and on the Carnival site it's American funds. Plus we booked a cat 11 and for our sailing there's no more suites available so the best we can see is the balcony level. I don't remember what the prices were for this category in order to compare if there was a drop. Do I just call the TA periodically and ask her to "run a price check" on my cruise? Seems to me like I'd be really bugging her if I did that one, but so many people talk of price drops and getting the TA to adjust the pricing for them, but dopey as it sounds, I really don't know what I should be doing.
