Finding New People To Agencys I Would Ask The Cruise Line Which Agencies They Use
There are a lot of books etc out there that are a waste of your time and money, but I bought one by Neil Maxwell-Keys, who used to work on a cruise ship and also did hiring for a cruise line. He has a great deal of information in the e-book about all the different jobs, how to make your resume, all the addresses for all the cruise lines, etc. I don't have the URL handy but I think it's something like getacruiseshipjob.com
I applied to 15 cruise lines using his advice and got a couple kind rejection letters from 2, one cruise line saying they'd be in touch (whatever that means!), and I was hired by NCL. My recommendation would be if you have a choice between one of the lines like Carnival, RCI, HAL, etc, and NCL, pick the former, as NCL's front office are not the most honest people. However, the people on board are great.
Obviously the book doesn't guarantee you a job on board, but I went through 3-4 crappy e-books before stumbling upon Neil Maxwell-Keys' book, and it was really awesome. I believe it's something like $30 US as well, so, affordable.
