Default Excursion - St. Maarten

Is the Golden Eagle excursion worth the price? Is it fun? Is there a different excursion that would be a better choice than this one? What should we expect & bring on this excursion?

I haven't personally done that excursion, but through the years have heard excellent reviews on it. Almost any good excursion is going to cost some money, but what a better way to really enjoy your cruise by doing and seeing things you wouldn't if you just walked around the ports or stayed on the ship. I'd go for it and have fun, thats what cruising and going on vacation is about..Enjoy

The Golden Eagle is a GREAT excursion, so well worth the cost. The only thing that you need to bring is your bathing suit, towel, waterproof camera.
You sail on this beautiful catamaran, you sail up the coast, which is gorgeous, the crew will be pointing out points of interest along the way. You sail over to Tintamar- a small island preserve, the boat drops anchor, there are stairs into the water, you can swim around the boat, walk to shore, or snorkel(they feed the fish), on shore you can relax or go for a walk, the boat provides beverages and sandwiches. The volcanic mud bath is a highlight of this trip, the sand is volcanic mud, you slather all over yourself, let it dry, you look totally silly, then you rinse it off, and your skin is very smooth and silky. On the trip home, you can get involved with crewing the boat, helping raise the sails things like that. There is music, dancing, and champagne to toast a succesful trip.
The crew is great.

Default Another option for St. Maarten

This lady has excellent references and has been conducting tours on both sides of the island for years:

Her website is currently being upgraded, but it describes many of her tour services.
