Paul,

I just wanted to say your recent article on "Understanding Cruise Line Ads" was a great read! I learned a whole lot, thanks!

Thank you so much, I am gald you liked it. Who knew it was so complicated, right?

A travel agent wrote me to say that Princess is putting ads out like "Upper Berth Special - get a Suite for $299" When what they are talking about is the 3 & 4th person in a suite sailing for $299. But the words "Upper Berth" to some novices imply a higher level category on a ship.

I am sure Princess would say, "Gosh, it never even occured to us someone would read it that way."

He also pointed out that luxury cruise lines often DO stick to "brochure rate" but that they also run a lot of special offers ( 2 for 1, discounted air, repeat passenger...)
