Default Athens to Rome - April 18th or May 29th?

We have booked a 10 day Oceania cruise going from Athens to Rome (Greek islands, Sicily, Capri). We chose May 29th,2007 but the same cruise is available on April 18th. We plan on staying in Italy for a week to sightsee. Any opinions on which date would be better? The temperature in April is mid to high 60's and the end of May is mid to high 70's. We do prefer the cooler temperatures but wonder if it would be too cold at night on the ship. It may also be less crowded in April.

I realize that I also put this post in the Europe section but I thought that this may get a quicker response.
