Default Two ports or one?

We are considering a May 2007 cruise out of Miami area. I noticed the Carnival Valor, Victory, and Imagination are listed as sailing from Miami and the Carnival Liberty is listed as sailing from Ft. Lauderdale.

Since I've never been to this area and these two cities are next to each other, I was wondering if there are two ports or just one that is referred to by both names.

Brittany,
They are two separate ports and approximately 30 miles from each other.

Unless you live in Miami sail out of Ft. Lauderdale. It is only a few minutes from the airport. You actually can see the ships as you come into the airport.

Cab fare is about $10.00 in FLL MIA would be much more.

Thanks for the info; it really helps. Right now, I am thinking the Liberty out of Ft. Lauderdale.
