I am travelling into Port Everglades on a transatlantic cruise on the Millenium, arriving in December. I want to book a Caribbean cruise from the same port on the same day but with a different cruise company. Is it easy to travel from one pier to another within the port or does security make this difficult.
Thanks for that response Kuki. The thought of an irate taxi driver is a worry. What would you consider to be a good tip for such a short journey? I'm British and not used to placating taxi drivers!! However if they are as aggressive as the porters looking for tips at the cruise terminal, then I know there will be a probem. I once offered 5 dollars to a porter at |Miami cruise port for taking 2 large cases and 3 very small cases. He made it very clear that it was not enough. What are your thoughts on the subject.
I understand your problem from reading other posts from "Brits"!
I'd suggest you tip $10.00 to the taxi driver.
As far as the porters, $2.00 per bag is the "usual" tip. You'll see signs that say you don't need to tip, but don't believe them if you want to see your bags again anytime soon !
It's not right, but that's the way it is... !

Thanks Fern, I will give the taxi driver an extra 10 dollars. However I might test the "no tips necessary" at the cruise terminal since I do not like to be held to ransom by porters. I expect I will regret this decision. I will let you know!!
