My partner and I, both retired, are planning our first trip to Europe and are searching for some cruise or ship from Barcelona, SP to Rome, IT or Rome to Barcelona - one way either way - sometime during the last week in April to the first week in May, 2007. Any assitance will be appreciated!
I'm sorry I don't have a specific answer for you , but I Googled "Rome to Barcelona Cruise" and came up with a lot of hits. I'd suggest you try it!
I hope someone who's done this kind of cruise can help you more .
Hope you find the cruise you're looking for and have a wonderful time!

We should all have these problems...decisions,decisions,decisions..lol There is no definite answer...which would you prefer to spend a pre-cruise in Barcelona or in Rome.. and what are the ports included.. We did a pre-cruise in Barcelona pre--trans-Atlantic and loved it..had a great guide and hotel..Now,in Rome the port is very from the port, but dependig on when you were going... there is so much to see..we hired a guide to go to Tuscany.. and that was the #1highlight of our cruise..If you need more info please write..firstname.lastname@example.org
Thanks, Fern, for the Google info, but I did Google and found lots of cruises where Barcelona or Rome was a port-of-call but did not find a cruise that originates at Barcelona (or Rome) and ends in Rome )(or Barcelona) - except for that cruise line that appeals to persons on the Forturne 500 list - and we aren't on that list.
I called several of the popular cruise lines, but it was indicated to me that they don't book persons for part of a cruise (from Barcelona to Rome or vice versa) - just the whole cruise.
I thought there might be a "local" shipping company (in Barcelona or the port that serves Rome) that might offer service for passengers from Barcelona to Rome or vice versa.
