Freestyle / Personal Choice

I would like to know what cruise lines have followed NCL Freestlye and Princess Personal Choice for meals, this is suits us just fine and would like to explore other lines with this type of option

Any suggestions and known info would be gratefully received

Carnival and Royal Caribbean don't offer the "freestyle", but have other options. There is of course, the alternative restaurants with a price and you can always just go to the buffet for dinner anytime you wish. Its not quite the same, but at least there are options.

Thanks Donna for that but most have "value added" pay as you areas however I was looking for "frestyle" that is inlcuded in the fare

Hi dropanchor,

As far as I know Princess and NCL are the only two major lines that offer "Anytime Dining" in the dining rooms. I also wish some other lines would follow suit, as we love being able to eat when we want

!

Thanks for that Fern, I agree with you, I like to go on holidays not to do boot camp and feel you must dress EVERY night to fit in with the table/s to have a meal or feel out of place is a big ask :evil: when you spend your working week in 3 peice suits and polished shoes........that why we go on holidays to get a break from it ! lolololol

Princess has "any time dining" BUT they still have suggested dress codes.

NCL is the only mass market line that doesn't have dress codes.

Regent SEven Seas has some cruises on their schedules which are designated as casual. There's also Winjammer Barefoot Cruises for very casual.

What Kuki says is true, but there are still so many other "free" places to eat on Princess! We went prepared to eat in the dining room on formal nights on our last cruise, but just didn't feel like it. We ate one night at the buffet (not the best choice!) and one night at the Pizza restaurant (a good choice!).

We were far from the only people in "casual" clothes on formal nights. Just wear something nice for dinner (not jeans or shorts) and you'll be very welcome all over the ship.
