We will be driving to Port Canaveral to board the Sovereign in about a week. I find that one pilot case is fine for our clothing for boarding and the first night. I am having trouble with the second carry on. No way is the overflow of items going to fit in a second pilot case. I have a duffel bag on wheels that measures 9" x 11" x 24" which would be perfect for a few items of clothing and all of our other personal care items(eg: shaver, hairdryer, etc.) My question is whether this bag will go through ex-ray upon boarding...is it too long? I would hate to be without our personal items the first night on board... I also read somewhere that duffels on wheels were not being accepted by some cruise lines as carry-ons. Can you enlighen me on this subject? Thank you
I don't think the length should make a difference since the duffle can be laid down. Everything just needs to be able to go through the x-ray machine that is just like those used by airlines.
I don't understand what you mean about not having things for the first night. Your luggage will get to you sometime during the day of check-in. Just take your valuables and a change of clothes for that night with you. (Wear your swimsuit under your clothes and then you won't even have to change to go to the pool!)
