My first ever cruise will be on Costa Concordia in March 2007. Since I have no idea what to expect when it is time to disembark, I am looking for some advice and an idea what to expect.
The cruise will end at Civitavecchia and from there I want to catch a train to the Rome airport. From what I have read elsewhere, the train station is only about a 5 or 10 minute walk from the port.
What I would like to know is if I should try and purchase advance tickets for the train, or just wait until I get to the station?
I know the ship is supposed to be in Civitavecchia by 8:00 am. I wonder if it is safe to buy a ticket to Rome for a train leaving around 10:00 am?
