Default Transfers from airport to port by car rental?

My husband and I will be going on the Carnival GLory on June 30, 2007 and would like to rent a car instead of buy the transfer from the cruiseline. We are arriving a day early and need the freedom to visit our daughter. Where could we drop off the car before our Port Canaveral cruise?

Check with the car rental companies in the area and see which one has the closest location to the pier. Some might have a "satellite" office that is close. When we rent a car, we drop one person, or the group, off with the luggage at the cruise terminal. The driver returns the car and then takes a taxi back to the terminal.

When we cruised the Glory out of Port Canaveral we rented a car from Budget. I grew up there and also wanted the freedom to visit former classmates, schools and homes. Their return location is less than a mile from the port and they offer a free shuttle to the port. Book a car for your return to the airport before you leave or buy they ship's transfer. We loved the Glory, best food ever.

We rented from Thrifty and they have free transfers also. Most of the major rental companies are located fairly close to each other in Cape Canaveral and offer shuttle services.

Most of the major brands in Ft. Laud are located at the airport... which is only about 10 minutes to the piers. And they all run shuttles too and from the port.

I normally drop Mrs. Kuki and the luggage at the pier, return the car, and take the shuttle back to the pier.

Or if post cruising, I grab the shuttle, go get the rental car, and come back to pick up Mrs. Kuki and the luggage.
