Taking Alcohol on Board

Hi Is it fairly easy to carry alcohol on board a ship (to save on the alcohol they charge you)

Thanks.

Nope...booze is number one on the no-no list on NCL and HAL.
I hear Oceania allows booze to be brought on board.

Just get a bar set (other thread for this) and pay double the street price but 1/4 the bar price.

Have fun!

Hi ARHL999,

Welcome to Cruisemates!

I see that you're cruising on Carnival. I'd suggest that you pack your liquor in your checked luggage, packed in a zip bag and bubble wrap. It should make it to your cabin  !

Have a wonderful cruise!

We plan to bring some in a checked bag also--does anyone know if Princess allows passengers to bring on alcohol?

Thank you!

Princess allows you bring aboard wine and champagne

If you do take wine or whaterver and they find it in your luggage what do they do with it?

LisaK March 19th, 2007 01:52 PM

they will make you take the alcohol out of your luggage, they will store it for you until the end of the cruise, you will get a "claim check" to pick-up your alcohol at the end of the cruise

Here's the link to Carnival's policy:

It looks like you'll be charged a "corkage fee" for wine. If they find any other liquor, see LisaK's post :) !

Hi ekathleeng,

We've successfully brought a small amount of liquor on Princess in our checked bags. That doesn't mean you won't get "caught", though :) !
