Cruises to Mediterian during winter

My BF's mother swears she has info from a TA that Carnivals new ship will be sailing the Mediterranean in December (leaving Dec 26). I am wondering if she got the cruise line wrong since Carnival does not show any ships in Europe during the winter.

Are there any lines that sail the Mediterranean during this time? Thanks, Carla ;)

There are several smaller cruise lines that sail the Med year round, but none of the majors (Carnival, Princess, HAL, Royal Caribbean, NCL,or Celebrity).

However, I learned at Seatrade that Europe is getting so "hot" (and not by global warming, but as a cruise marketr) that year-round cruising in the Med is coming soon, and very likely by Carnival and Royal Caribbean.

Costa does it, as do several European cruise lines.
