Default Booking a future cruise while on a cruise.

I heard if you book a future cruise while on your current cruise you get a shipboard credit. Is this true?

On Princess, you can put a payment of $100 per person down on a future cruise. You do NOT have to book it immediately - you have 4 years to do so. Once you book that future cruise, you don't have to pay the balance due until final payment PLUS the $100 per person will go to a shipboard credit if you have at least an oceanview cabin. Believe it's $75 for an inside cabin.

adias, While on an RCI cruise, we booked our next cruise and received $100 credit, per cabin. Seems like I remember the same applying to Carnival.

You can also have the booking transferred to your personal travel agent if you like (on most cruiselines).

That is always good information to know. I will have to remember that next time I cruise. How would you go about transferring the credit to a travel agent and why would you do that? just curious.

You tell the future cruise consultant who your travel agent is and they can look it up and make note of it on your reservation. Then when you get back home, give your agent a call with your booking number and he/she will take care of the rest. You ask why would you want to do that....one reason is because it is always a good idea to have a travel agent. Anything that you need help with or any changes you need to make, you can do it through your travel agent. Of course, it isn't 100% necessary to have a travel agent.
