Default Artic Air Conditioning

This isn't meant to be a complaint but I was wondering if there is a mechanically or some other logical reason why the interiors of cruise ships are so cold? In the dinning room, my guess is so that the waiters that are running around don't overheat or sweat too much but why everywhere else?

Yes, its true, sometimes the dining room is chilly, thats why I always pack a light sweater. I'd agree with you, the staff does a lot of running around, so its needs to be cool for them to work.

Default artic airconditioning

Sometimes a light sweater or blazer is not enought for me, I wore a long sleeved blazer and blouse and still froze on the Carnival Legend. On the Costa Med it was the opposite quite warm and I packed wrong expecting it to be chilly. I think I even complained to the front desk. The Carnival pride was some where in the middle temperature wise. Id rather it be slightly warm then artic cold.

With all those people to satisfy, I doubt they can please everyone one with the temps. It is easier to get warm by using a sweater than to get cool, if its too warm. Also the men during formal night are happier in their suits and ties.

Yes: One person's cold is another person's pleasant.

A sweater or wrap is always a good idea.

Take care,
Mike (Minnesotan and has a different thermometer)

I ride buses a lot which also can be artic in nature during summer. Bring a light sweater. Remember you can put more clothing on in public but ya can't run around naked

I am from Canada and almost always cold. I always bring a sweater, jacket or wrap of some sort in the dining rooms and theatres. I avoid the casinos altogether, not only because they're FREEZING, but because they're SMOKY too!

I agree Donna, I do like to play the slots a bit but last time every time I sat at a slot machine a smoker sat next to me and lit up, I got fed up and left!
