First Time Cruisers - Carnival Freedom Logistics
 

We are booked on the John Heald Blogger Cruise on the Carnival Freedom from January 19 - 26, 2008.

I am looking at airfare from LAX to Miami:

We are planning to arrive Friday January 18th. Does anyone have any good recommendations for lodging for that night in close proximity to the port?

The Freedom is scheduled to return to Miami at 6 AM, there are flights departing from Miami to LAX at 11:10 AM & 2:25 PM. Which flight should we book to return home to provide enough time? How long does it normally take passengers to disembark and find their luggage on such a large ship like the Freedom? Does this cruise offer early self disembarkation?

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Most people are off the boat by 10ish but I would take the 2:25 flight just in case there are any delays on the water.

There is early self disembarkation but when we saw the crowd we thought forget it. You can actually do the self disembarkation at any time not just at the early time. Thats what we did and boy was it nice to just sit and wait for the crowd to clear out ;) Carla

New Year's cruise sounds like a wonderful time.

We appreciate the information. With over 3,000 passengers, we have no idea what to expect at disembarkation.

2:25 flight will be a lot less streesful in case of any delays.
