Default Name on pass port and other documents for cruising Europe

I have had problems with "matching" the name on my passport with other documents for the cruise. My passport has my last name then my first name and then my maiden name which I use on most ducuments as my middle name. When the cruise documents were filled out my middle(maiden) name was not included as it is on my passport. I have gone round and round with my travel agent and cruise line about what is correct. I keep reading that documents must match passport. For some reason the travel agent and cruise line have not been able to get this right. My middle name has been used as part of my last name, and it has been misspelled. The travel agent has made me pay a penalty and is threatening to make me pay an even greater penalty if other changes have to be made. I feel much of this error has been her fault, but my chief concern is how "fussy' the cruise, airline and immigration officials are about thse documents. I don't want to get to airport or dock and be denied boarding. I can't seem to get this straightened out. Can't talk to cruise people because I used a travel agent who has made this very difficult and stressful. Any advice?

Unless you supplied the travel agent with incomplete information to begin with, this error was not your fault, and the travel agent or cruise line (whoever made the error) should be correcting the problem, without charge.

If your travel agent is acting aggessively, and trying to charge for a mistake they made, I'd get very aggressive in return!!

The bottom line is that if it's just a slight error it shouldn't make much difference... but it would still be better to have them correct the errors.
