We went to the Krystal in Nov while on a princess cruise. The charge was $20.00 pp and it was $20.00 too much money The pool was nice but the beach was horrible, customer service non existant and they didn't provide towels. The grounds were a maze of construction workers. The $20.00 could go towards food and drink, our 15 year old ate at the lunch buffet but said it wasn't nice, my husband said it didn't look good. We drank overpriced warmish drinks.
I believe the Marival in Nuevo (about a 14 min cab ride from the ship, offers a day pass for $45.00 and it includes everything from boogie boards, towels, buffets, sitdown lunches, drinks, kids club.....in hindsite I wish we had spent more and travel a little futher and gone there.
Also I think the Marriot has the same deal, I wouldn't advise any one to got o the Krystal.
Thanks for the information. I've already been in contact with the home office of a couple of the top tier hotel/resort chains and have been referred to a couple of their local 4/5 star hotel/resorts very close to the cruise port with some promising information. I haven't heard back from the individual hotel/resorts as yet, since I just began corresponding with them, but hope to hear something by August. Snail mail isn't the same in Mexico and the individual hotels of a given hotel chain, don't list their emails with the parent company emails as company policy. Surprisingly enough, their day pass prices actually start at $25 a person with drinks and food extra, as they're not all-inclusive. However, according to the home office, that pays for the use of the pools, gym, water toys, beach chairs, umbrellas and access to all their property and beach area, plus a few extras. All in all, worth every penny at a 4 or 5 star resort. Thanks again.
