Default birth certificate question

On April 11th, my hubby and I applied for our passports at our local
Post Office. He received his about 2 weeks ago. Still have not seen mine.
We have 6 weeks before we leave to fly to Seattle. Then on to Sail on the Spirit out of Vancouver BC.

I know the laws regarding the Passports for cruiseship passengers have been relaxed, but I have a question concerning my birth certificate.
Will I need my birth certificate in addition to my proof of application and
Drivers License? We also had a State ID card made in addition to everything else.

Just wondering, so if I have to have the birth certificate, I will have
time to go get one. Thank goodness, I live in the town I was born in,
so I should not have any problems. Key word here is shouldn't!!!

Thanks for any information.

Hi samtam,

Yes, if you don't get your passport in time you'll need another copy of your BC. I think you probably will get your passport in time, but if I were you I'd go ahead and order another BC. They're not that expensive ($10-$12 usually) and will give you peace of mind !

Have you checked on the government website to see where you are in processing? Here's the link:

Thank you so much for the info. I have been checking on that web site for weeks and it continues to say that my passport is being processed.

So, I guess I will see about getting another BC within the next few days.

Thanks again.....
