Default Carnival cruise documents

Is it true that Carnival will no longer be sending cruise documents along with luggage tags in the mail? My agent tells me that it will be e-tickets only. Sure does take the fun out of waiting for your info prior to the cruise.

Most cruise lines are going to e-tickets instead of the "standard" boarding documents. They will send you the cruise information, i.e. shore excursion information and some other cruise information.

With online check-in the need for an actual ticket and manually filled out documents have become redundant and the cruise lines are trying to cut down on the paperwork. Except for the stuff that can make them more money.

In my opinion, I rather like the online check in process. It sure cuts down the time in line when all of your passenger and credit card information are entered before you get there.

Take care,
Mike

Yea, I know what you mean, not getting the docs in the mail, makes the cruise "real" somehow. I think all the major cruiselines will be using the e-tickets. I now purchase concert tickets online and they just scan the ticket I print out. Its the way of the future everywhere, kind of takes the fun out of things, but thats progress for you.

Thanks Mike and Donna - knew you would know the answer :-). I have e ticketed many times but we are travelling with some that haven't (one a first time cruiser) - they are concerned. Have assured them not to worry but they are apprehensive to say the least.

For now, everyone defaults to paper documents unless you change that when you do your online check-in. Once you request paperless docs though, it cannot be changed back.

I pity the people who don't own a computer...Unlike all us savvy web surfers:):) But, I speak to people all the time who, don't own one, and don't want one!! CAN U IMAGINE?!!!!
