What cruise lines offer free style, single seating dining arrangements? Thanks.

NCL is the only one that offers "freestyle"; that's their name for it.

Princess has something they call Any time dining.

Some of the expensive luxury lines also do not have traditional set dining times.

I do not know what you mean by single seat. If you care to explain, I'll try to help.

Thanks for the info. By single seating, I meant that each couple/family has their own table rather than banquet style.

Just got back from NCL Dawn. Found that if we went early, plenty of table choices, including tables for two in the main dining room.

NCL offers Freestyle Dining: you can dine when you like and with whom you like in single, open seating. The newer ships, built in 2000 and later) have up to ten restaurants to choose from. Three have a surcharge, the others are all free.

Princess has something similar. You can choose between standard assigned, two seating dining OR, you can opt for single open seating (there are two restaurants). In addition there are two alternative dining restaurants (surcharge) and the Lido buffet is open 24 hours per day.

the largest tables i have seen are for 10. I am not quite sure what you mean by banquet style seating. You can request any size table that you want on any cruise line regardless if they have traditional dining or a flexible option.

Cruise lines that offer open seating in their main dining rooms are:

NCL (Mass Market)
Oceania (Deluxe)
Azamara (Deluxe)
Regent Seven Seas (Luxury)
Seabourn (Luxury)
Silver Seas (Luxury)

Princess offers "Anytime Dining" in which one dining room is designated as open seating.

I just returned from an Azamara cruise and their open seating concept was one of the best I have found. Even the "Breezes" cafe (buffet style) was a step above most other dining areas for dinner time.

Take care,
Mike
