Hi,
I'm thinking of sailing on the NCL Jade 2/29/08 transatlantic cruise to Barcelona from Miami.
My question is, would I be able to take my bike aboard? The bike would be in a "bike bag" the same as the airlines allow. I would not be using the bike until I got to Spain.
Thanks for any information.

Good question! Since others have their scooters and strollers, sometimes double wide strollers, I would imagine if brought in a a "bike bag" it should be okay. Does this fit thru an xray scanner for carryon? I don't think I would chance it going thru checked luggage. Let us know what you find out.

My DH has done this, but not for many years. He merely rolled it on. Had to go through personal security check. But, the real problem was the amount of space it took up in the cabin. I din't even have to complain. He just started renting bikes from then on.

I'll try an get an answer direct from NCL.
I need the bike to do some touring in Spain & Portugal.
I forgot about those strollers, they are as big as a bike.
I can't imagine any problem bringing a bike , in a bike bag, onboard.
The only problem would be turning it over to the porters to load with your luggage. They beat up the luggage, so hopefully the bag has enough protection for the bike to put up with a bit of beating getting to you.
Hi Lisa,
I'm not looking to use the bike in ports. It's after the cruise that I would be cycling for weeks, therefore renting won't work. My idea for example, would be to cycling from Barcelona to Lisbon and fly back to USA with the bike.
Thanks everyone for your help.

hello Ed, now i understand your bike question. You would have to check your bike/bag at the pier with the porters, and when your luggage arrives at your cabin you could ask your room steward to store your bike for you
