My husband and I were booked on NCL for Jan 19th/08. Because of an itinerary change I decided to go on another ship. My travel agent called NCL to cancel on Oct. 10th. Long story short, the agent whom she spoke for never cancelled on that date nor does she have any proof of there being a call from my agent. Now comes the end of Nov. and we have only received $500 of our $1000 deposit. I called my agent and she has tried everything to get us our money back. Upper Management says NO refund of the $500. I cancelled almost 100 days before the cruise was to set sail. I was within the time frame. I have written the pres. of NCL and am hoping he will do something. what else can I do?

Just as when booking, when cancelling the agent should receive a cancellation #.

Someone definitely dropped the ball here, but it may not be NCL. A couple of things to clarify...

When did NCL say they got notification of cancellation, for them to return half your deposit, if they say they weren't told of the cancellation?

unfortunately neither you nor your travel agent has any proof that you cancelled your cruise on October 10th. Kuki is totally correct on this one, your ta should have gotten a cancellation or confirmation of cancellation number or notice from NCL. The blame isn't all on NCL,your travel agent is partly to blame for not getting a confirmed cancellation
