My wife & I are planning a trip to Greece, including a 7-10 day cruise around the islands. We had been talking with a guide who is pushing the Zeus Yacht Cruise Company. I read a 2001 letter to Tim from Allen F. Gates identifying problems with some of the fleet at Zeus. Is there any reason in 2008 that we should steer clear of Zeus? Is there another cruise line operating in the Greek Isles that would be a better choice?
I have never heard of this cruise line. Personally, I would recommend that you stick to one of the cruise lines you see reviewed here in CruiseMates.
Smaller Greek cruise lines can be sub-par, and English may not be the primary language onboard.
The best Greek Isle cruises I have had: Windstar, Oceania, Star Clippers. These cruise lines are in port almost every day of the cruise, have smaller passenger loads (so they go to more unique stops) and have comfortable accomodations and food.
One elite cruise line is Travel Dynamics International - pricey but top notch.
