Planning flights

We are planning to fly in the day before our cruise. I'm trying to figure out what time to book our flight back home. It says our ship docks at 7:00 am on our last day, and I understand it takes several hours to disembark. Should I plan our flight home after 3:00? We're sailing in/out of Miami. Thanks!

Anne:

To accommodate late docking, customs, immigration and traffic you should not book any flight that leaves before noon. You may end up waiting an hour or so but the alternative of missing your flight and sitting on standby for the rest of the day isn't as nice.

Our group are cruising on the Valor on May 11.
Our flight leaves FLL at 11:56. I was told that this should not be a problem.

We will be taking our own luggage off the ship and getting tags to be one of the first off the ship.

I also was told that the ship docks at around 6:00am and we can leave at around 8:00am and still be okay to make it to our flight.

IF everything goes smoothly and you don't run into any kind of problems, or time issues you can make a noon flight out of Miami, if given a choice i would opt for the later flight.

That is what I was told also. Ft. Lauderdale is much faster with not being as crowded.

Darlene you should be ok, we have done it, and yes Ft. Lauderdale is so much easier, and faster than Miami, not to mention that the cruise port is like 10 minutes away from the airport

Our ship, the Valor is docked in Miami. The ride from the dock to the FLL airport is about maybe 30 minutes away
