Default first formal night

I'll be going on my first cruise on may 4 on the carnival victory. Is the formal night on the first night? I keep reading that your luggage may not arrive to your room for quite awhile. Don't want to waste my fancy duds!

Formal nights are never on the first night of the cruise because people being tired and the possibility of luggage not being delivered to the cabin in time.

If your luggage doesn't arrive at your cabin in time the dress code is usually relaxed so you can dine in your traveling clothes.

It is always a good idea to pack a change of clothes for dinner in your carry on.

Take care,
Mike

normally your first formal night will be the night of your first full day at sea.
