HI; My DH and I are planning a cruise to South America next Jan.2009.
It's with RCL's Mariner of the Seas starting out in Port Canaveral going around the Cape and ending in Cal. We are looking at the first TWO legs of the trip and already have a cabin under deposit with our agent (used her twice
before) for the second leg. At the time of booking, RCL was offering reduced deposit and OBC. When I talked to her about adding the second cruise - no "perks".
Just for curiousity sake - I have done some online checking with three
other cruise agencies and they are ALL offering either OBC or Prepaid
gratuities. I also have checked to see if the same catagory of balcony
cabin we now have under deposit is available with these agencies - They
are and at almost an identical price. I really would like to give my agent
the business for BOTH cruises as she has been very helpful - however,
I also would like to save some additional $$$. These two legs would cost
my DH and myself over $ 14,000 which is not "spare change". Would
booking through two different agents (different cruises B2B) affect my
return flights home/airfare??? Thanks and sorry for the long post.
I'd suggest talking to the travel agent you already have booked with and see if they can match the price. Just be sure you are comparing the exact same catagories and that both are including the extra taxes and fees. Sometimes one includes them and the other doesn't, so it looks like one is a lot cheaper and it really isn't.
Thanks Donna: That's my plan - and the other sites I am checking are
including all the other "extra" fees. Another thought - would booking the
second cruise (even though B2B) make me eligible for "past passenger
discount" on the price?? IF I did book the second leg through another agent - how would that affect my return airfare?? Isn't the airfare determined by my entire itinerary?? Thanks alot.
