Default Luggage After the Cruise

I am going on my first cruise this Nov/Dec with Princess Cruises (Caribbean Princess) and when we arrive back it will be around 6am, but my flight home isn't until 5:30pm. What do most people do with their luggage? I may decide to take a tour or something while waiting. Do I carry them with me? Is there a holding place for them? Thanks in advance. I wasn't sure what most people do when they are in that situation.

If you take a ship's tour then you will be dropped off at the airport and your luggage will be with you.

If you are going to do something on your own then your luggage is your responsibility. This can be a problem because you will not be able to check your luggage, at the airport, until four hours before your flight. Some people get a day room at a hotel, renting a car for a few hours or just sitting at the airport. You can try and fly standby on an earlier flight if one comes available.

I'm going to be facing the same problem in November. I have 5:30 p.m. flights out of LAX and don't feel like sitting in the airport all day. I'm going to try the standby route. My bags may not arrive with me but at least they'll be delivered later.

Take care,
Mike
