Weight of luggage on the ship?
So I know that your luggage on a plane has to weigh 50 lbs. or under. I read on NCL you can bring up to 4 suitcases at 50 lbs each. I sm only planning on bringing 2 suitcases. Her is my question. Does it matter if these two weigh 125 lbs, or bring 3 that weigh say 125 lbs. I just wonder why it actually matters if I bring under 200 lbs. of luggage.

I didn't even know there was a weight limit on a cruise ship.

This is news to me. I have never heard of weight limit or how many siutcases you can bring on board. Are you sure you aren't talking about airline restrictions?

NCL's FAQ states:

Each person is allowed up to 200 pounds of personal luggage on board. However, if you are traveling by air, ask the airline if it has different restrictions. Airlines and NCL have limited liability for loss, so be sure all baggage and personal belongings are properly insured. Suitcases should be securely locked and tagged. You should hand-carry medication, jewelry or other valuables and important documents.

So there is now a limit imposed by NCL. Though 200 pounds per person is a hefty limit. It really doesn't state how it has to be divided up but you need to remember someone has to lift the bags so be kind and if you pack a 125 pound bag don't complain if it doesn't arrive until 2:00 a.m.

Take care,

I got everything packed and it only weighed 46 lbs! I am used to weighing the luggage before I fly, so only habit!

Thanks for the input...I am off to my cruise in 2 1/2 hours! Bermuda here I come:)
