Default Panama Canal Excursions

I been hearing about excursions in the Panama Canal. When we did the canal cruise Oct. 3, 2008 we were not offered any excursions. My questions are, which cruise lines offer canal excursions and what are the excursions.

It was NCL Pearl, we did the full transit. We been hearing about excursions in the canal so that is why I was asking. The cruise was great and I was wondering why anyone would want to get off the ship to see the canal. Being on the large ship going thru the canal and locks was the best part of the cruise.

We enjoyed a partial transit through the canal on Coral Princess and the day on the ship while others did excursions. To each their own! :-)

doing a full canal transit there isn't enough time to do any type of excursion. Its the partial canal transits that offer shore excursions on most all of the major cruise lines
