Default Disembarkation

We will be cruising on Celebrity Constellation in February. In order to make flight reservations, when can we expect to disembark in Fort Lauderdale, FL?

You never can tell for sure about the time you'll be off the ship, a lot depends on clearing imigration. If you book a flight around noon, you should be fine. The airport is very close, but its a small airport and sometimes getting through security can be a major pain.

Just think, when the both the Genesis class ships dock in Lauderdale on the weekends....That ginormous group of cruisers, added to the already huge group from the other ships, will effect everything...cabs, security lines, seats on the plane! Oh my!

Btw, I have flown out at 11:00, but that was a few years back..post 911, with the long security lines and the possiblity of a customs issue, noon is the better plan.

On December 6, we had an 11:20am flight out of Ft Lauderdale. We made it, but was too close for comfort. From now on, 12:00 pm or later.

You do not know what the weather and other ship traffic will do in any port. The ship we went out of Fr. Lauderdale on had problems with 3 Navy ships that took priority and delayed the docking.

Noon or latter.
