Default RV parking near Port of Miami

I am leaving on 4/11/09 on a cruise of of Miami. I am driving my motorhome. Is there anywhere I can park my RV besides the Port. They want $40/day!

Not that I know of and I used to live in Miami. The port is too close to downtown Miami. The only thing I can think of is maybe booking a room the night before at a hotel that would let you leave it there, even though you don't need the hotel room. The other factor is that parts of Miami would pretty much strip your motorhome clean in a week if you just park it somewhere unsecured. Personally, I would pay the $40....and I'm cheap about parking.
