If you find you don't get any work at first do keep trying. There are two suggestions I do have for you. One is to perfect your English more and as boring as it might be work on writing in English with proper grammar. You'll have to read and communicate critical instructions in English if you're working on a cruise ship that operates generally in English. So the better you are there the better your chances. Take some classes if you have to.
Another thing to do though it might be expensive... take a trip through parts of Europe and drop off a resume in person at some of the cruise ship offices. I don't know how much it would increase your chances since a lot of recruiting is done online these days, but it's a good excuse to take a trip. I was in Istanbul myself and got tired of site seeing and the tourist areas. I wanted to see more of the local areas and culture so for fun I took off trying to find guitars and play station 2's. Not items they generally sell to tourists

I saw quite a bit more of Istanbul that way.
I hope to come back again, there's so much to see in Turkey and so much good food.
Best of luck with you dreams!
