Cruising in the winter?

Well, my mother and i are in need of a vacation and we are going to cruise to mexico this september. We couldnt help but notice that the prices for the same exact trip are so much cheaper in the winter.

Does anyone know about traveling to mexico in the winter for a weekend cruise? Do you think there will be much rain?

Also, are pools closed? Are much of the activites indoor?

I appriciate your answers :)

OUr first cruise was the week of Christmas 7 years ago--we also went to Mexico and we had some rain but it was beautiful most of the time -we wore our shorts and never got cold and when we got off the ship it was actually very hot---you will enjoy what ever time you choose

From your location I take it, you will be on the Mexican Riviera..here is a website, that may give you some insite to the seasonal
climate...winter in mexico is delightful.... if the prices are less expensive, take advantage, and, maybe, make it a longer crusie.

The Mexican RIviera is a lot warmer than here in the US. Further south means higher temp's. You may get some rain, but winter is actually more pleasant weather there than summer in my book. We've been to Mazatlan in summer when it was 114@ and 90% humidity. Go in winter!
And, as said, go for a longer trip if you can, sway 7 day cruise. Otherwise, you will only see Ensenada, which is probably the least exciting place I have ever been to in Mexico. Still, better than no vacation at all.

Carnival Splendor has a covered pool so even if it's rainning the pool is still open. Plus the Splendor is the newst ship sailing Mexican Riviera. For me the choice was between the Carnival Splendor and Royal Caribbean the Mariner of the seas. Since the Splendor was cheaper I went with that. The May 2, 2010 cruise was surprising inexpensive. My room is a 4E with Early Saver (non refundable) booking it was $509 per person not including taxes and port charges. Check out the web cam of the Splendor pool. The have the sliding roof open today because it's sunny. PS. I loved that movie Pineapple Express. :D

The facilities on the ship never change . Pools , shops , hot tubs etc are all open
Only port/shore facilities might change during different seasons.
